We were saddened to learn that one of our favorite Hollywood couples is calling it quits, Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from husband Brad Pitt. This famous couple were together for 12 years, married for two. We saw their relationship blossom onscreen, and after recent reports Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are headed for divorce it appears we may have witnessed it wither on the big screen, too. The curious case of Brangelina! Here's a look at the pair's hottest onscreen moments.
In the spy romance "Mr. and Mrs. Smith", the pair were seen falling playfully in love with an element of subterfuge, a vibe that seemed to capture their real-life coming together, which was both unabashedly romantic and risky. (Pitt was married at the time to Jennifer Aniston.) That Jolie and Pitt actually met working on said movie enhanced the art/life entwining.
The couple looked so in love on the Red Carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011. As always, they looked like couple goals. Angelina's dress absolutely killed it as usual.
The pair were both nominated for awards at the Golden Globes in 2012. Neither of them won in their categories, but they did slay on the red carpet to make up for it. Angelina wowed in a floor-length cream satin gown with a side slit that cut up to her thigh, and Brad just looked as handsome as ever.
In 2014 they turned up to the Baftas in matching tuxedos. Nothing gives us nostalgia like looking at footage of that red carpet. Just remember Britney and Justin wore matching denim outfits on a red carpet before - clearly this leads to disaster…
Their most recent and possibly last film together came in 2015, a year after their 2014 marriage. Even when Brad and Angelina portray a troubled couple in By The Sea, as Vanessa and Rolland, you can't help but root for their marriage to get back on track. Despite the lovebirds seeming disenchanted with their current situation in the heart-wrenching film, it's obvious to see the spark once existed. The tumultuous nature of their relationship only highlighted how insanely passionate they were about each other, but how distant they had ultimately become.
