What if the video for urgent conference can't be played on projector?
It would be tragedy to find that, the video clips work fine on the Mac, but when connected to your digital projector, the recorded video clips (MTS, MXF, XAVC, MOV, etc), downloaded movies and TV shows (AVI, MKV, MPEG-2, etc), purchased Blu-ray/DVD are refused to show on the projected image, leaving only a black box where they should be playing.
Maybe your leader has tried changing the meeting room equipped with latest projectors without notice at reasonable time, and you should be drenched in the sweat and scratch hardly your head to image some brainstorm. So terrible! No worry, in this case, why not try to convert video to the compatible format by projector before sharing with Dimo media server? It just take several minutes to implement all. After that, you will find a list imported video/audio is available for next steps.
b. Select your output format in the right box. Generally speaking, formats like MP4, MKV are supported by most projectors. You can check the user manual to see its playable format. By choosing an audio format, you extract only the audio track from the video, or convert audio files from one format to another.
c. By clicking "Settings", you can change the format parameter like code, resolution, bit rate, etc. of output files. And you can appoint the output storing route by clicking the "…" at the bottom. Or you could skip this step to leave it default.
d. After the settings are completed, simply click the "Start" button and the program will complete video conversion for projector soon. When done, open the converted files by clicking "Open".

Tip 1: Why the video on Mac can't be played on projector?
There are several reasons of your video can't play on your projector, let's make them out explicitly. First, please check the video format your projector can support, which different brands of projectors have different source video format requirements, such as, Sony VPL series can play the format of AVC (H.264/AVC), MPEG-4; while the formats of BenQ are MKV, MPEG etc. To view which concrete video format is compatible with your projector, please go to the projector's user manual or ask help from their customer service. Second, please ensure well connection between your projector and the external device. Sometimes, the connector maybe loose due to the environment changing, you have to re-plug them.
By using built-in video player installed in your projector, there are some limitations of video sources regarded to the factories. So to fix projector's video format compatibility issues, you can go to Google to download one comprehensive players which can support your video clips, such as Adobe Flash Player, VLC media player and so on. Or using Dimo Video Converter Ultimate for Mac directly.
To solve the physical connection, you just plug them again and double check Slideshow > Set up show > Multiple > Monitors is set to "Primary monitor". Tip 2: How to set up a projection-based home theater?
- Choose a suitable projector first; higher lumen value is better and will mean your image is visible even in bright conditions. Aim for 1080p if you can afford it – it's an absolute must if you're planning a large projection size. Otherwise just stay away from anything with XGA, WXGA, and SXGA resolutions, and ensure 1080p means 1080p output, and not just "compatible". Expect to pay at least $500 for a decent 720p projector, $1000 or more for 1080p.
- Use the projector calculation tool to work out optimal placement, and either mount to the ceiling or plan furniture around that, making sure you won't obstruct the projection with anything. A ceiling mount will set you back $50-100.
- Consider your surround sound system next, along with speaker placement and cable paths. A budget 5.1 system package can be found for around $300.
- For best quality, purchase a screen – but the price goes up quickly for larger screens, so expect to pay anyway from $100-$300. A perfectly smooth matte white wall will produce results indistinguishable for most people at a fraction of the price.
- Blackout curtains may not be essential unless you want the authentic experience. Hold off on buying these until you've had a chance to test out everything first.
A home theatre is an certainly investment that will repay you with great experiences for years to come, dramatically enhancing your enjoyment of movies, TV and gaming. At the very least, buy yourself a projector!
